J.T. Miller’s Wife Sends Heartfelt Thank You to Vancouver

The J.T. Miller-era in Vancouver officially ended when the Canucks traded the star forward to the New York Rangers at the end of January. While the move marked a significant shift for the team and their offence, it was also an emotional transition for Miller and his family. His wife, Natalie Miller, took to Instagram to share a touching farewell, expressing gratitude for their time in Vancouver.

“Vancouver, there are not enough words I can say about how much we loved our time here,” Natalie wrote. “Raising our babies, trying new food, exploring, and being in Rogers Arena will forever be some of our favorite memories. We are so grateful for the support and love and will hold onto our time here really close to our hearts.”

Miller was acquired by the Canucks from the Tampa Bay Lightning in June 2019 and quickly became a fan favorite. Over his six seasons with the team, he played 404 games, racking up 437 points (152 goals, 285 assists), making him one of the most productive forwards in Canucks history. His passion and intensity made him a leader on and off the ice, and the fan’s love for him was best-displayed during the regular “J.T. Miller” chants that would echo throughout Rogers Arena.

Beyond hockey, the Millers embraced Vancouver and its community. They spearheaded the “Cloud 9” initiative, donating their luxury suite at Rogers Arena to provide families with sick children the opportunity to attend games. Natalie had expressed how much the project meant to them, saying, “My vision was to make it personal, to host those kiddos and give their parents a night of happiness and no pain,” in a previous instagram post.

While the trade was a tough pill to swallow for many Canucks fans, it also fulfilled a long-standing dream for the Millers. The move reunited J.T. with longtime friend Vincent Trocheck, and according to reports, their wives played a role in encouraging the transition. “They were pushing us: ‘Oh, you guys have got to get this trade done!'” Trocheck said.

Now, Miller is settling back into New York, where he began his NHL career back in 2012. In his first two games with the Rangers he made an immediate impact, tallying four points (two goals, two assists), but has no points in his last three contests . Canucks fans will get a chance to see their former star again when Vancouver faces the Rangers at Madison Square Garden on March 22.

While his time in Vancouver has come to an end, Miller’s contributions—both on and off the ice—will be remembered fondly. As he embarks on this new chapter, the city and its fans wish him and his family the best.
