A Girls Guide To Surviving The NFL

I like watching football, getting into a good game with friends can be fun, however at the end of the day, I’m just a girl, sometimes football gets boring.

The 4th quarter that sometimes feels like an eternity, all the injuries, and the short plays that keep repeating that seems like the ball isn’t even going anywhere can be a hard watch, I like the action and not every single play in the game will have that and unless your a super fan, I don’t blame you for getting bored.

And to all my non football loving ladies out there – you almost made it, the season is almost over, but one last big hurdle to jump over, and let me tell you these next couple of weekends will be a lot. But don’t worry too much, they’ll also be pretty exciting. But if you are anti football and somehow always surrounded by it (like me) then I have some tips to get through some long shifts in front of the TV.

Being my dads only kid and a daughter I’ve kinda been forced to take the role of watching every single game. I think I’ve mastered the act of seeming interested during those boring times and faking it when you make it during the game.

First off before the game, get snacks. These games feel like forever sometimes and the last quarter always feels like hours on end to me so get some snacks. If I’m watching at home I like to bake something at halftime and it’s like killing 2 birds with 1 stone. I get a break from football and do something fun and then I get to eat something good and whoever you’re watching won’t even think twice about your absence because they get something good out of it too.

So what’s on the docket for today? Two important games ahead of you at 1:30 at the Texans will be played by the Chiefs (Travis Kelce’s team) so keep an eye out for Miss Swift! I know she may not be a favourite in some guys opinion but personally one of my favourite parts of a KC team day is seeing Taylor and Brittany Mahomes game day fits. The 5:00 kickoff will be the Commanders and the Lions.

There’s only four games left till the Superbowl (aka the Kendrick Lamar concert) so you got this!
