Remembrance Day Concert: Shadows Into Dawn

Remembrance Day is almost here and it looks like the 33rd Annual Remembrance Day Concerts will be another great event this year with its songs telling the stories about the brave soldiers who fought and died in the wars to the performers for this years event. The show titled the Shadows Into Dawn will start on November 11th and be taking place at the ST. ANDREW’S-WESLEY UNITED Church in Vancouver from 2-5pm.

The performers for this year’s annual concert will include a wide variety of artists from musicians to singers to choir groups from Vancouver singing some of the most heartwarming and emotional songs. This includes the Chor Leoni mens choir who will be directed by the well known music conductor Erick Lichte, pianist Tina Chang, Katherine Evans playing trumpet and Micheal Dirk who will be playing the organ and many others. Who will immerse listeners in a sonic space for the heart and mind to tell the stories of the conflicts and violence of wars from both the past and present.

The music for this concert will be a mix of songs from different genres that tell the stories about the wars to what the soldiers faced on the battlefield. This includes a mix of folk songs, popular songs, and choir songs that will immerse you into the world of war. With you really feeling the words in the songs from your mind to the heart to the soul and will guide you through the journey of the soldiers in a way to envision yourself in that soldiers shoes and their time in the battlefield.
