Alright, can we just take a minute and acknowledge how far the Vancouver art scene has come. Looking over the past few years, The Vancouver art community and the different movements in the scene has really been rising or continue to evolve and thrive. The upcoming events for this November really shows that Vancouver not only has amazing talent from the artists who create these great pieces of art, but might make Vancouver the next art mecha city. Lets look at some of these events that reinforces this.

First, We have the Vancouver Architecture and Design Film Festival which started on Nov. 6th and ends on Nov. 10th. If your interested in cinema about architecture and design that includes things ranging from highlight the environment to residential architecture then this event is something you might like. During 2023 and early 2024, The Board opened up submissions for artists to submit their work to be shown at the event. This includes many Vancouver artists who will have their creations shown on over 15 film screens and panels from both already established to upcoming artists in the Vancouver architecture and film scene at the Hollywood Theatre.

Another amazing event is LUMIÈRE 2024 at the west end of Gastown which started on Nov. 7th and ends on Nov. 10th. This event will be one that showcase the talent in the visual arts scene and lights up the sky (literally). As someone who went to the LUMIÈRE event a few years back, I can personally tell you that it is absolutely amazing! From The different LED’s that lights up the event to the futuristic atmosphere, this really makes this event an unforgettable experience. If you have not been at LUMIÈRE event yet, I highly recommend it because you will both step into and see the future with your own eyes.

Now let’s look at an event for all kinds of hand made art with the 2024 Culture Crawl taking place on the Vancouver Eastside. This event will taking place November 14th to 17th and involves over 500 different artists from the different movements in the art world. This includes painters, jewellers, sculptors, furniture makers, weavers, potters, printmakers, photographers, and glassblowers ranging from upcoming artists to internationally established artists.
