A recent report from Sportsnet’s Iain MacIntyre came out where he said Thatcher Demko was spotted taking shots from his Vancouver Canucks teammates at the morning skate yesterday in Anaheim.

For some background if you’re just hearing about this, Thatcher the goaltender for the Vancouver Canucks, hasn’t played since April 21 2024. This was after suffering from a rare injury involving the popliteus muscle on the back of his knee. There was an update last week about Demko’s condition and it was good news that he was doing good and was looking to slowly make a return to the Canucks this season. Looks like that’s confirmed to be the case with this recent update.
However, since Demko is still in recovery mode a bit, the Canuck staff is not urging the process to rush him back in as this practice is meant to ease him back on the ice. Mainly to see if he is good enough to play in matches again and to get back into the groove of things while taking the right precaution’s. It still might be a while till Demko joins the team for the rest of the season. But when he does return, you can expect that the fans and his teammates will be glad to have him back in action.
Personally, I’m glad to see Demko doing well and is back on the ice ready to and will soon be ready to return to the team again for this season. After everything he’s been through, it’s great to watch him bounce back and bring his A-game to the Canucks. His presence really boosts the team, and with his quick reflexes and strong positioning, he’s set to make a big impact this season. Glad to see he’s staying healthy and takes it easy with his training as he continues to prepare for his grand return.
Although we might not see him on the ice till later into the 2024/25 hockey season, The Canucks are still doing good as they just won their recent game against the Anaheim Ducks 5-1. So Demko will have all the time he needs to prepare and finish whatever remains of his recovery to make sure he’s in the in right shape to play. All the best to Demko and hopes to see him back soon.
