I’m sure if you live in Vancouver you have been, know someone who has been, or even just heard about it, it’s always got something going on and some big artists have played there. It’s a good spot for musicians to get your name out there, and for live music fans, one of the best spots in Vancouver to get out and enjoy a show. If you guessed right, then you know I’m talking about The Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver.
The Commodore first opened its doors in 1930! Can you even believe that! After closing and reopening several times the doors have been opened for entertainment since 1999. The Commodore was originally a ballroom but it’s made kind of a 180 change since then. In 2011 The Commodore was named one of the Top 10 Most Influential Clubs in North America and Most Influential Club in Canada by Billboard Magazine! If that wasn’t your sign to make it your new Friday go to, then I don’t know what else will be! Some notable artists that have performed in the Commodore have been Snoop Dogg, Pixies, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Franz Ferdinand, and more
