Have you listened to the EP, “The Trellis”? It’s a banger and the artist behind that masterpiece was coming to British Columbia. That’s right, Nick Mulvey is on tour and he was planning to stop at our hometown on Tuesday, September 17. Many fans of his in the lower mainland were looking forward to seeing Nick live but sadly, he canceled the concert. It was going to be held in the Hollywood Theatre on 3123 West Broadway. It’s unfortunate for all the fans that were looking forward to seeing their favorite artist perform. I remember when I booked my first concert tickets in 2018 to see Nicki Minaj. I was so excited to see my favorite songwriter live, but unfortunately she canceled the concert and hasn’t been to Vancouver since. So, I empathize with fans of Nick.
If you still don’t know much about Nick Mulvey, allow me to provide some backstory. He was born on November 4, 1984. He’s an English Musician, songwriter, and singer who was also once in the band “Portico Quartet”. He started his long, successful career in 2011 and a year later he released his first full body of work via an EP being “The Trellis”. From the first few opening songs in this EP you could already sense his love and passion for music which could be a reason why he was so successful throughout his career. When it comes to music I can sense whether a song or album is a filler cash grab. Many artists just use music to make a quick buck and don’t care about their craft or the genre. Thankfully, Nick is one of the few who seem to make music just for the love of it. This is very evident in many of his songs.
Speaking of his songs, let’s talk about them to help you get more familiar with him. Some of the ones that I’ve found noteworthy are: Fever To The Form, A Prayer Of My Own, We Are Never Apart, Star Nation, In Your Hands, Mountain To Move, and Begin Again. These songs all have a great meaning and even a music video to tag along with it. I love when artists release music videos, it’s another way to connect with the artist and the song to create a better meaning and connection. It also proves that the artist is willing to spend money to give their fans an awesome visual.
