The police are scary but you know which one isn’t? The Tokyo Police Club. They are a rock band from Newmarket, Ontario, Canada which is quite ironic but their music is just too good! The first time I listened to this band was when I visited their debut EP “A Lesson in Crime”. Not only were the songs great but the title and theme of the album was awesome. I love it when artists have a whole album rollout that suits their brand. For example, Megan Thee Stallion and her newest self titled album. It had a snake theme throughout including the album art, music videos and lyrics. The Tokyo Police Club also stayed within their brand and played along with the police theme. This band will be coming to Vancouver, B.C. on September 14 in the Commodore Ballroom.

The iconic rock band, “Loverboy” is coming to Delta, B.C. in the Barnside Harvest Fest. This band consists of five guys who are all born and raised in Calgary, Canada. I really love it when I see Canadian bands get the recognition specially the ones who have such great talent and songs but are so underrated. Yes, that’s right, I believe that this band is underrated! You should definitely check them out. This band was extremely popular in Canada and the U.S. due to their iconic singles: Working For The Weekend and Turn Me Loose. I gave these songs a listen and they are definitely interesting. It’s not really my style of music and what I listen to on the regular basis but it has its own charm and I could definitely see why fans of this band fall in love with songs like these. Perhaps, when I hear it live it will catch my attention more!

Make way my friend, Sophie Ellis Bextor is coming to Vancouver, B.C. She will be performing in the Commodore Ballroom located on 868 Granville Street. This gal is best known for her single “Murder on the Dancefloor”, which is quite an intimidating title to a song but it’s kind of sick! Her debut solo album “Read My Lips” was released in 2001 and she’s been releasing creative hits ever since. Her punchlines are great and her lyrics are definitely something you need to go back to , to fully understand. After releasing that album she turned into a household name, gaining thousands of fans around the world. Many say her live performances “oozes confidence” , which is always a green flag when it comes to live performers.
