Fix You – a song full of hope.

Coldplay is coming to BC Place on September 22nd and 23rd, and even though I don’t have tickets to either of their shows, I am still very excited! I am a massive fan of the band and know the words to a few of their songs, but “Fix You” is my favourite one.

This song by the British rock band was released in 2005 as part of their album “X&Y.” It’s an emotional song that has resonated with many listeners over the years, including me.

Another reason why I love the song so much is because it is the theme song for the NHL’s Montréal Canadiens. The Canadiens are my favourite hockey team, and I enjoy listening to that song as they hit the ice to start each of their home games.

The Canadiens are the most historic franchise in all sports, so I think it’s cool that the organization chose “Fix You,” considering all the other songs they could use! The lyrics to the song are great, but the instrumental version is also extraordinary.

“Fix You” is full of energy and emotions! The song conveys comfort, support, and healing. I’ve always pictured the theme relating to individuals going through tough times, feeling lost or broken,  and needing someone or something to guide and motivate them. These are all emotions that we feel from time to time.

I have watched videos of the band performing the song in venues worldwide, and it always seems to give me chills! I hope to experience the music in person.

The song presents a sense of empathy and a desire to provide comfort. The lyrics express that even when someone is going through their darkest moments, they are not alone, and there is hope for a brighter future. The chorus contains the iconic lines:

“And I will try to fix you.”

These lines show the singer’s commitment to being a source of strength and support for the person they love. As the song progresses, it intensifies with strong instrumental and vocal performances that strengthen its emotional impact.

Overall, “Fix You” is a moving song that connects with listeners because of its message of compassion and the idea that even in difficult times, there is the potential to get better and receive support from loved ones. I can’t get enough of this song!

I hope they get to play this song for the sake of their fans, who will be watching the band in concert!
