Yee-haw and howdy to all my cow guys, gals, and nonbinary pals! Get ready to dust off those cowboy stompers cause’ the Sunfest Country Music Festival is back! Get ready for another year of foot-stomping, yee-hawing, and hat tippin’ fun in Cowichan Valley, BC from August 3rd to 6th.
Sunfest is one of the biggest country music festivals in Canada and its’ got the roster to prove it. Headlining the event are country music superstars like Darius Rucker, Miranda Lambert, and a closing act from Blake Shelton!!! Of course, the rest of the show is also jam packed with a slew of other talented performers. So, if you’re a die-hard country fan or just there for a good Sunfest has you covered.

In addition to the incredible musical acts, Sunfest also offers a range of activities and attractions to keep you entertained throughout the weekend. From line dancing lessons to mechanical bull rides, there’s never a dull moment at this festival. Plus, like always there’s lots of food and beverage vendors on-site. So, it’s safe to say you won’t have to worry about going hungry or thirsty during the event. But you might have to worry about jealous family or friends when you get back.
But before you get in the yee-haw spirit there are a few things you need to take care of. Firstly, make sure you pack comfortable shoes and clothes. The high heeled boots in your bag probably look gorgeous but they will destroy you after an hour or two. You’re going to be on your feet all day, so you need to be prepared. If you don’t have a comfy pair of boots, then it’s okay to wear runners. No one will judge you and you can still have fun without them. Next thing is that the weather in Cowichan Valley can be unpredictable. Look at the forecast ahead of time but always pack an outfit or two for each temperature extreme. And lastly, it’s important to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen. Nothing will ruin your festival more than passing out from heat stroke. So be prepared and protect yourself from the sun!
