Jon and Roy is a Canadian indie folk band that has been performing since 2005. Singer-songwriters Jon Middleton and Roy Vizer formed the band while studying at the University of Victoria. They have published many albums and EPs together and have amassed a devoted fan base for their meaningful lyrics and captivating tunes.

They have produced multiple albums throughout the course of their career, but one of their most successful and highly praised songs is their 2012 release, “Let It Go.” It was a shift from the band’s previous reggae-infused sound, showcasing a more polished and mature version of their indie folk approach. Colin Stewart, a renowned producer, and engineer helped the band improve their sound and attain a more coherent and polished sound. “Let It Go” contributed to Jon and Roy’s reputation as one of Canada’s most promising indie folk performers. The album’s mix of catchy melodies, emotional lyrics, and beautiful musicianship garnered the band an army of devoted fans and helped them expand their popularity outside Victoria, British Columbia.

One of the distinguishing qualities of Jon and Roy’s music is their ability to combine diverse genres and create a sound that is completely their own. Their music frequently mixes elements of folk, reggae, and indie rock, and the band is noted for their exquisite guitar work and layered harmonies. This eclectic approach to music has helped Jon and Roy stand out in the crowded indie folk scene and earned them a worldwide fan base.

They are well-known for their spectacular live performances in addition to their work in the studio. They have played widely in Canada and the United States, as well as in Europe and Asia. Their live concerts are noted for their great energy and ability to move and sing along to their songs.

Despite their success, Jon and Roy maintain their humility and dedication to their profession. They continue to compose and record music, and they are continuously seeking for new creative challenges. Jon and Roy will undoubtedly be a significant component of the Canadian indie folk scene for many years to come as they continue to develop songs and refine their style.
