Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno are set to face off for the 4th time tonight. The first of their epic battles ended in a draw, the second fight saw Moreno win the title with a fast submission victory, and in the third fight Deiveson won back his title in a 5 round war.
So who will win this epic 4 fight saga? My bet is on Brandon Moreno.
When Brandon Moreno won the second fight it was in dominant fashion. In the stand up exchanges he looked like the cleaner technical striker, and on the ground he inevitably finished Deiveson. When Deiveson won the belt back in the third fight, it was in no way a dominant win, and some people even claimed Brandon Moreno should have won the fight.
The story of those 3 fights are why I’m predicting Moreno. Deiveson has never dominated Moreno the way Moreno dominated the second fight. Clearly Moreno has figured out what it takes to beat this guy dominantly before, and I’m willing to bet he can figure it out again.
Another reason I believe Moreno will win is Figueiredo’s weight issues. In all three fights he struggled to make the 125 pound weight limit, causing him to be hospitalized the night before the first fight. Moreno seems to make the weight limit each time with no apparent issues, making him faster, and healthier come fight night.
While I may have my reasons I think Brandon Moreno will walk out with the win, I wouldn’t advise anyone to bet on this fight. These men are fighting for four times because of how evenly matched they are, so make no mistake that this one should be a close one.
