Travis James, a Vancouver musician, has one ambition to sing for everyone in the city of Vancouver. James’ goal started three years ago when he would perform for people waiting in concert lineups. But since the COVID-19 pandemic occurred and there are no more concert lineups, he took to social media to aid his ambition.

He’s recently become a TikTok star his handle travisjamesmusic (10.6 thousand followers!) with his performances at outdoor gatherings since the weather has warmed up and people have become tired of sitting at home. He has begun performing at beaches and other parks for people soaking up the sun. With his use of TikTok to promote his dream, he’s garnered popularity outside of the city and even outside of British Columbia. This has seen him receive messages and comments on posts from people across Canada wanting to see him perform in person.

To which he has said, “I’m sure once lockdown ends, there will be opportunities to take this beyond the city.”

This is pretty amazing, to say the least, for a guy who just three years ago was singing for people waiting in line to watch other people sing. Obviously, you can find him on TikTok and on Instagram, Spotify (nearly 1,800 monthly listeners!), Apple Music, and on YouTube, which he has music videos and covers of famous artists, including Drake and Lady Gaga. As for now, he’s still going to be performing for the people of Vancouver and continue to pursue his goal.
