“BCIT’s MAKE+ is an excellent place for your product development work to be done with a professional team that works to meet the needs of your company” Lisa Fraser, Snug Vest – NSERC Engage program.
The certification of PART (a sub group of MAKE+) to ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 for 10 years has been instrumental in the success of MAKE+ as an applied research service provider to the medical device industry as well as start-ups and manufacturers in other sectors. The design control process is also of use to the work they do with faculty and students in product development and provides a unique opportunity to BCIT students as other university students do not normally get exposure to working in an academic research team that works to this industry standard.
“We have now held an ISO 13485 certification for 10 years and we need to celebrate and promote this significant milestone” says Nancy Paris, Director, MAKE+ & PART team.
Lastly, MAKE+ is now supporting another BCIT applied research team from the School of Transportation as they work towards ISO certification.
Congratulations MAKE+!
