BCIT applied research group MAKE+ collaborates with UBC to make babies calmer

May 9, 2016 by Antoinette Jackson Leave a Comment

Congratulations to MAKE+ team members Gordon Thiessen, Brian Keane, Ernie Janzen, and Matt Greig who had their work on the Baby Calmer project featured on CTV Morning Live.

The Baby Calmer is a technology developed for B.C. Women’s Hospital that simulates skin-to-skin contact for premature babies who are too fragile to be held by their mothers. It helps maintain the baby’s temperature and promotes bonding.

This clip ran on CTV morning live in Winnipeg and Vancouver.
