BCIT’s Silvia Raschke, PhD, was selected to receive the prestigious 2013 Thranhardt Award from the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) for her groundbreaking research.

The paper was presented by Dr. Raschke at the 2013 AOPA National Assembly in Orlando, Florida.
Silvia Raschke holds a doctorate in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the Strathclyde University Faculty of Engineering, (Scotland). She is the Principal Investigator for BCIT Applied Research group Centre for Rehabilitation Engineering and Technology that Enables, CREATE. Silvia’s main area of expertise is in the areas of biomechanics, product development and device evaluation. Project experience ranges from health and safety devices to veterinary products and methods.
