April 26, 2013 by Sara Frederking Leave a Comment

Skate on edge braking and spraying up snowBlur Sports, a sports innovation company, wants to help hockey players be their best through the measurement and analysis of the performance of their skating, with a new cutting edge technical data analysis system. Blur came to BCIT to develop a functional prototype of this system for further testing of their concept. This analysis system will be a cost effective tool for teams when it comes to talent identification, developing players, and rehab programs. Early results look very promising and it’s hoped this technology can be shared throughout the industry in the near future. Currently Blur is working with BCIT and SAIT with the help of an Idea to Innovation (I2I) Grant from NSERC.
