On November 1st, over 60 people congregated to Townsquare C for the Symposium on Convergence of Complex Systems in Health Technology. This event was sponsored by PART, ARLO, MAKE+ and the BCIT Foundation.
This the second interdisciplinary health technology research symposiums in 2011. The first one was on the Convergence of IT and Health Technology and was held on March 31, 2011. Both these symposiums have fostered interdisciplinary dialogue on specific themes, bringing together participants and speakers from the internal BCIT community (faculty and researchers) and the external community (companies, health authorities, regulatory bodies, industry associations, funding agencies, etc.) who offered institutional, local, and national perspectives.
The list of speakers included: Paul Dangerfield (BCIT VP of Education), Nancy Paris (PART), Rizwan J. Kheraj (IRAP), Silvia Raschke (TPEG), Dr. Jaime Borisoff (PART) and Thealzel Lee (VANTEC Entrepreneurs Fund VCC Inc.), Dr. Arthur Hans0n (IISD & CCICED), Dr. Carol Amaratunga (JIBC), Bruno Jaggi (BCIT Faculty) and Michael Orenduff (Orthocare Innovations).
