Data logging technology is used to monitor wheelchair use such as mobility/distance, dynamic seat use (i.e. elevation, tilt, recline), and lifespace (i.e. participation in the community and home).
We have used data loggers to better understand how users of the Elevation wheelchair utilize the seat height and back rest features of their wheelchairs. Jaimie Borisoff is also part of the CanWheel data logging project. The CanWheel work includes a scoping review of wheelchair data logging technologies as well as an online survey for clinicians and researchers aimed at determining which data logging variables are important to measure, and the perceived challenges/barriers in collecting these variables.
