Physics is challenging for many students. But don’t worry! BCIT and the physics department offer a variety of learning support. If you need help with an assignment, lab, or just have general physics questions, try some of the resources listed below.
Physics Learning Centre (PLC)
The PLC is a drop-in tutoring center staffed by BCIT physics instructors! Open Monday – Friday from 11:00 – 13:00 in SW03-4785 (during fall and winter terms). Looking for a specific instructor? You can find the current schedule here.
Peer Tutoring
The Learning Commons offers peer tutoring on the main floor of the Burnaby Library. They also offer some online sessions. For a detailed schedule, see the Learning Commons’ site. Tutors are listed based on program, but for physics help, feel free to see any tutors from the School of Energy (ECET, MECH, ROBT). The Learning Commons offers a variety of other academic supports, which you can learn about here.
Lab Skills
If you want to build your confidence with measurements and uncertainty, try the free, self-paced course “Metrology, the Science of Measurement”.
