The BCIT Student Chapter of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) was awarded 3rd out of 26 other post-secondary institutions for the President’s Award for the Top Student Chapter in Canada. Incoming BCIT CSCE Student Chapter Co-Presidents, and 4th year BCIT Civil Engineering students, Kumayl Rashid and David Lu, travelled to the CSCE Conference in Fredericton, NB to receive the award.
This award continues a strong tradition for the BCIT CSCE Student chapter. The Chapter finished first in the country in 2011, 2014, 2016, and 2017, and in third place in 2015 and 2018.
In addition, BCIT Civil Engineering Faculty member Martin Bollo, P.Eng., received the CSCE 2018 Certificate of Commendation for his contribution as Faculty Advisor to the BCIT Student Chapter of the CSCE.
