BCIT welcomes Kristine Thompson as Associate Dean of Accounting, Finance, and Insurance

The British Columbia Institute of Technology is delighted to announce that Kristine Thompson has been appointed as Associate Dean Accounting, Finance, and Insurance in the School of Business + Media. With more than 25 years of experience spanning both academia and industry, Kristine brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her new role.

Kristine’s journey with BCIT began in December 2019 when she joined as an instructor in Business Administration and Financial Management. She taught courses in accounting, payroll, strategy, and human resources.  Her commitment to education and student success soon led her to the role of Program Head for the Advanced Diploma in Professional Accounting.

“When I joined BCIT School of Business + Media in 2019 as a member of the faculty, I quickly found that nothing gave me greater pleasure than seeing our students succeed in their chosen education and career paths,” says Kristine. “I am eager to continue working with our dedicated faculty and staff to help our students reach their full potential and take their place in the vibrant business community in Vancouver and elsewhere.”

Before joining BCIT, Kristine built a distinguished career in industry, leading teams at various organizational levels through both booming and challenging economic times. Her expertise in strategic planning, budgeting, hiring, and team development has prepared her well to take on this leadership role at BCIT.
