The BCIT Student Chapter of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) has been awarded the national CSCE President’s Best Student Chapter 2020-2021 Award. This award continues an impressive and strong tradition for the BCIT CSCE Student Chapter. The Chapter has won this prestigious award now six times: 2011, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2021.
“What makes this achievement even more impressive this time around is that it happened during a year when all classes and activities were held online. Despite the additional challenges of online learning and the increased student workload, our CSCE Student Chapter leadership team showed its commitment to delivering on their goals and was able to innovate their way through the many unprecedented obstacles. The Chapter organized our annual Professional Night as an online event which ran smoothly. The networking event was engaging and interactive, and gained the praise of many attendees. This was a perfect example of what our students are capable of,” shared Poureya Bazargani, Faculty, BCIT Civil Engineering and CSCE Faculty Advisor.
Poureya and the other CSCE Faculty Advisors, Kian Karimi and Zaki Abdullah congratulate the students on their achievement and are grateful for having had the opportunity to work with them. Although each and every member of the BCIT Student Chapter played an important role in their success, the faculty would like to mention Cody Pallin, Jeevan Padam, Pero Pejkovic and Keven Zhao for their extraordinary contribution.
A special thank you to Industry Advisor, Dom Costantini, Vice President, Operations, Bird Construction for his support to the students as well.
Congratulations to the BCIT CSCE Student Chapter and all the other Chapters across Canada.
