Did you know that the Technical Safety BC Electrical Field Safety Representative (FSR) certification will expire on the first day of your birth month in 2021, regardless of when you renewed it?
Electrical Safety Regulation (section 10.1) now requires Class A, B or C FSRs to complete 8 hours of continuing education before they can renew their certificate of qualification.
Consequences of not renewing
If an Electrician does not renew the certificate but continues to perform regulated work, it can put everyone at risk. These are some of the consequences for working with an expired certificate:
- Any contractor license becomes invalid, along with any associated installation or operating permits
- One can’t be named on any new or renewed operating permits, installation permits, temporary construction permits, and contractor licenses
- One can’t assess compliance with current codes and regulations
- One can’t submit declarations of compliance
Prepare to renew your certification by registering for the BCIT Field Safety Representative (FSR), Electrical Code Continuing Education course. This course is offered through BCIT Part-time Studies.
I would like to sign up for the Telc0208 FSR renewal online program
Thanks Barry Stroud
