The third annual BCIT Engineering Panel and Info Session was held on March 13 with numerous prospective BCIT students in attendance to learn more about program offerings, especially those in the School of Construction and the Environment, the School of Energy, the School of Transportation, and the School of Health Sciences.
The panel of BCIT students and faculty shared their experiences and gave advice to prospective students and their families. Electrical and Computer Faculty Kathy Manson and Civil Engineering Faculty Renata Wood both shared their industry experience and advice they had as BCIT faculty. The panel also included Megan Gent, a student in the Mining and Resource Engineering degree, Reeghan Osmond, a Mechanical Engineering student and Marine Engineering student Jocelyn Hitchen.
While the panelists all had a diverse range of expertise to share, the one thing in common was the advantage of a hands-on BCIT education and the importance of teamwork and communication skills in the workforce.
Following the informative panel session, attendees participated in a break-out session for an opportunity to speak with faculty and students from various BCIT programs.
