BCIT unveils the Scotiabank Lounge to support student success and innovation

BCIT is pleased to announce the unveiling of the Scotiabank Lounge at the Downtown Campus, made possible by a generous donation of $500,000 from Scotiabank. Located on the fifth floor in the TEC Hub, the lounge will serve as a dynamic space for students to collaborate, study and engage in a flexible and collaborative learning space.

Scotiabank’s commitment to education excellence and student success has long been a cornerstone of their philosophy. Their significant contribution supports inter-disciplinary education through entrance awards and work-integrated learning opportunities for students pursuing programs in Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity.

Scotiabank’s donation also includes an investment in educational technologies at the Downtown Campus.

“As a recipient of the Scotiabank Entrance Award, I have been able to fully focus on my studies without the stress of financial burdens,” explained Digital Forensics student Soyun Park. “This award has opened up new opportunities that I never thought would be possible and I’m incredibly grateful for it.”

“We are deeply grateful to Scotiabank for their continued support,” said Dean Hildebrand, Dean of BCIT’s School of Computing and Academic Studies. “Their commitment to student success is transforming education at BCIT and creating new opportunities for students to connect with industry and thrive in their careers.”

We are grateful to Scotiabank for their partnership and our shared vision to empower people and shape the future of British Columbia.
