BCIT is thrilled to announce that Joanna Tong will be joining BCIT Foundation as its new Executive Director, starting November 4.
With over 25 years of senior executive experience in higher education, Joanna has led several significant comprehensive campaigns from planning to completion. An authentic collaborator and a creative thinker, Joanna is passionate about supporting students and faculty to make the world a better place.
Joanna is very excited about the opportunity to serve as Executive Director for BCIT Foundation, partnering with the team and the wider community to inspire giving for the future of BCIT and its students. Her recent leadership roles include Vice President, Philanthropy at The Terry Fox Foundation; Executive Director, External Relations at the Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria; and International Director (AVP), Advancement at the University of Cambridge, UK.
During her tenure in leading Cambridge University’s £2.2 billion fundraising campaign in Asia and the $275 million campaign at Simon Fraser University, Joanna was deeply touched by the generosity of alumni, donors and corporate partners to address the pressing issues we faced.
Joanna believes that innovation, whether it is in the areas of technology and sustainable leadership or health and equity and inclusion, requires collaborations between internal and external stakeholders. Joanna will be humbled to be the conduit in that evolving space.
