BCIT Board of Governors appoints new Chair and Vice Chair

BCIT is thrilled to appoint Michael Bonshor, CPA, CMA as Chair of the BCIT Board of Governors 

Michael is a member of the Dzawada’enuxw First Nation of Kingcome Inlet and has worked with First Nations and Indigenous organizations for the past 20 years. He is President and CEO of Visions First Nations Financial Services and Managing Director of First Nations Business Development Association.

Prior to his appointment as Chair, Michael was Vice Chair of the BCIT Board of Governors. He also serves on several boards including the National Indigenous Economic Development Board and the BC First Nations Gaming Revenue Sharing General Partnership as Co-Chair. He is a proud alum of BCIT’s Financial Management Program.

BCIT is also pleased to announce Don Matthew, CPC, CA, ICD.D as Vice Chair of the BCIT Board of Governors.

Don brings with him extensive experience in construction, transportation, distribution, manufacturing, power generation, and technology. He was as an audit partner and National Industry Leader for the Industrial Manufacturing Industry Group at KPMG.

Don is also a member of the National Board of Directors of Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME). He previously served on the Board of Governors of the University of Alberta and various boards and committees including the Chambers of Commerce (Richmond, Vancouver, Edmonton, and BC), and the Aerospace Industry Association of BC.

Michael and Don are honoured to take on their new roles on the BCIT Board of Governors and will continue fostering relationships that partner our learners and industry for success through workforce development.
