BCIT Automation and Instrumentation students from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology (ECET) program took first place at the 2023 ISA-SAIT World Student Games on March 15-18, 2023.
The ISA-SAIT Student Games is the largest student-led industrial automation competition in the world. Marking their 10th year this past March, they have continuously prepared students for real-world challenges related to automation, control, and instrumentation.
We are proud of our BCIT students, Riya Gautam, Anisha Panwar, Salvador Padre, and JunHyeon Park (JP), who represented the BCIT ECET program at the Games in the Automation and Instrumentation stream. All visiting students from around the world were placed on different teams to encourage collaboration and problem-solving between peers who were interested in the same field. The students greatly enjoyed the mixers, the team-building Banff trip, and the various challenges at the Games. They also got the chance to meet with industry professionals and leaders.
Although it was a tight race between 15 teams who had narrow score differences, Riya Gautam and her team from other schools emerged victorious. Congratulations to Riya and her team on a well-deserved win!
