At this year’s Prix d’Excellence awards ceremony – hosted by the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE) – three of BCIT’s projects and programs earned coveted honors for brand excellence in engaging alumni and donors, as well as supporting development efforts across our sector.
In the category of Best Use of Video/Film (1 min or less), the BCIT Marketing and Communications team took home gold for their Hands-On Student Recruitment video. The award-winning campaign showcases BCIT’s strong connections to leaders in industry including Microsoft, Seapsan, and Lifelabs, and demonstrates how our students learn by experience through real-world education.
The BCIT Advancement department won silver in the category of Best Alumni Event for their Alumni Association Virtual Tea Tasting event featuring alumnus and Chong Tea Co founder Matt Chong. With his expertise and passion for tea, Matt led attendees on a virtual tea tasting and demonstrated how to conduct a traditional tea ceremony and select proper teaware.
And in the category of Best Advertisement/Poster, the BCIT Marketing and Communication’s team earned bronze for their Hands-on Student Recruitment advertisement series. This series exhibits six graduates in action across dynamic fields and industries. From motion capture digital production within Microsoft’s Gaming Studio to enviro-chemistry water testing on the shores of the Burrard Inlet, this award-winning campaign showcases how BCIT graduates apply their hands-on learning to make a positive impact in the real-world.
