Update January 12, 2022: An appointment is now required for COVID-19 tests and vaccines at the BCIT Burnaby Campus Testing and Immunization site. Drop-ins are not permitted at this time.
All members of the community are encouraged to make an appointment to get their COVID-19 vaccines at the Burnaby Campus Vaccination site or another site of your choosing.
Get your booster dose
Everyone 18 years and older will be invited to get a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine 6 months after the date of your second dose:
- Use the confirmation number from your invitation to book an appointment at a vaccine clinic or pharmacy. You can do this online or by phone.
- If you want to get your booster at the same time as a family member, you both must book an appointment.
- Depending on your location, you can book an appointment 1 to 5 weeks from the date you get your invitation.
A booster dose is an additional shot of vaccine that helps you maintain and lengthen your protection against severe outcomes of COVID-19. When you get a booster dose, you’re helping protect you and the people around you from COVID-19. You will receive either the Moderna or Pfizer (mRNA) vaccine. These vaccines are interchangeable.
Your booster dose does not affect your proof of vaccination status. Your BC Vaccine Card will show you as vaccinated with 2 doses of vaccine.

Update August 10, 2021: BC is reducing the interval between the first and second vaccine to 28 days instead of 49.
A reminder that that all BCIT staff, faculty, students, visitors, and contractors are now invited to drop-in to the BCIT Burnaby Campus Vaccination site for their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. No appointment, BC Personal Health Number, or registration required.
Additionally, I’m now pleased to announce that if you received your first dose of COVID-19 vaccine 28 days ago – you may also drop-in for your second dose at the Burnaby Campus Vaccination site. Second doses provided first come, first served for those eligible, as capacity allows.
Regardless of your regular health region or address, this site is open to you, your family, and friends (ages 12+) to drop-in for vaccines.
If the BCIT Burnaby Campus is not a convenient vaccine location – you may also walk-in to any Fraser Health Vaccine site. Find a location near you at fraserhealth.ca/vax.
The Burnaby Campus COVID-19 Testing and Immunization Centre is located in Lot B (entrance off Carey Avenue at Canada Way) and is open every day from 10:00 am – 5:30 pm. Both drive-through and walk-through services are available.
I thank the Fraser Health Authority for their continued work in BC’s COVID-19 recovery program and am proud that BCIT is able to lend our space to support the province’s vaccine delivery. I encourage all BCIT community members to take advantage of this convenient service and get your vaccine as soon as you are able.
If you have questions about the BCIT Burnaby Vaccination site, COVID-19 vaccine eligibility, or scheduling please call 1-888-COVID19 (1-888-268-4319) or visit fraserhealth.ca/vax.
