As 2020 draws to a close, I wanted to reach out to all of our students who have continued to demonstrate resilience and positive thinking throughout the Fall term. Whether you have been learning in a blended format or fully remotely, I know that it has meant doing things differently than any of us would have anticipated a year ago. I continue to be amazed and inspired by the strength of our BCIT community.
The majority of our programs will be returning to learning activities on January 4, 2021, consistent with delivery models from the Fall term, and most of our Part-time studies courses begin that week as well. I sincerely hope that everyone can enjoy some time away from work and school between now and then and find time for rest and rejuvenation.
As we look ahead to our spring and summer courses and programs, BCIT has determined that learning modes will continue with the status quo through to June 30, 2021 at which time we will evaluate the prevailing Provincial Health Officer and WorkSafe BC guidelines to determine whether any changes will be made. Any courses that begin online prior to June 30 will complete online, regardless of changes after that time. This means that programs and courses with blended learning modes and approved Safety Plans will continue in adherence with all health and safety requirements. Those courses and programs which are currently fully remote will also continue as such.
Wishing everyone a healthy, safe, and joyful remainder of 2020 and wishes for great things in 2021!
