BCIT School of Construction and the Environment (SOCE) is a proud sponsor of the BC Construction Association (BCCA) Construction Month 2019. The BC’s construction industry is 250,000+ workers strong. Skilled trades, architects, engineers, training providers and many more are celebrated in Construction Month.
On April 23, 2019, BCIT hosted a special Contractors Breakfast for construction faculty, staff and students. The pop-up celebration expanded to four different locations to reach out to as many construction people as possible on BCIT Burnaby Campus. BCCA sponsored the BCIT celebration which included all the coffee and pastries, swag, t-shirts and gift cards. Special thanks to our volunteers – Marita Luk, Lauren Swanson, Matt Magee and Sandy Caktas.
Construction Month also recognizes and rewards those in the construction industry who have shown exemplary leadership and community contributions this past year. Scott Construction Group nominated and BCCA selected BCIT SOCE’s Marita Luk for the Construction Leadership Award.
