Top three secrets of success at BCIT

As a BCIT full time student the average amount if courses you have during a semester is seven. One might wonder if it’s possible to get through all of them successfully. Here are the top three secrets on how you can accomplish that:

Manage your time.

Managing your time is something that will help you to succeed in almost everything that you do. Set your own deadlines and schedule your own time in which you will work on your tasks. BCIT is not your life. You probably have other responsibilities that are important. Assigning times to your tasks will help you achieve all your goals at your own timeline.

“Time stays long enough for those who use it.” – Leonardo Da Vinci

Teamwork

As a BCIT student you are put into sets, which practically is a group of students that have the exact same classes at the exact same time. Therefore, you see the same people everyday which makes it so much easier to make friends. During the first few weeks it might be difficult and awkward with your set but they soon become family. Within those sets you are put into smaller groups and given projects and assignments to complete. Being a team player is an extremely valuable asset for almost every career in life.

“Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.” – Henry Ford

Focus

With so much to do it becomes overwhelming which makes it difficult to focus. Always thing of the end goal, if you applied to BCIT you know exactly what you want at the end. Every time you fall of track you have got to take a moment and remind yourself why you started. Staying focused will give motivation which will keep you going.

“Don’t dwell on what went wrong. Instead, focus on what to do next. Spend your energies on moving forward toward finding the answer.”– Denis Waitley

I hope these three tips help you achieve success at BCIT as much as they helped me.
