Another BIG success for BCIT Big Info Night

Heavy rain and terrible traffic didn’t keep over three thousand people from coming to the BCIT Burnaby campus for Big Info 2017 last Wednesday night. It was another record-setting evening, with more attendees than ever learning about all that BCIT has to offer.

Students view a 360-degree video tour of BCIT campuses through the use of Google cardboards.

What is Big Info, you ask?

BCIT Big Info Night is a recruitment event held twice a year, where over 300 program areas are out in full force to talk to prospective students about their future career opportunities. Visitors are able to check out cool interactive tech demos at the new ‘Welcome Showcase’ while some dug deeper into a program area by attending a breakout information session, which are held throughout the evening.

Attendees come from all walks of life. Some are changing career paths, some are high school students about to graduate and some are university students ready to take on an exciting career–whatever the reason, our faculty, staff and graduates are happy to show off their program areas and answer their questions.

New for 2017

Big Info had a few new elements added to it this year–two food trucks, virtual and augmented reality demonstrations at the ‘Welcome Showcase’ and there was even a chance to be entered to win $1000 dollar tuition credit by watching a 360-degree video tour of our campuses.

Want to learn more?

If you weren’t able to attend last week, that’s ok! There are other information sessions being held over the next several months. To learn more about BCIT, you can also book a campus tour or a spend-a-day visit.

The next BCIT Big Info takes place on February 28, 2018 at the Burnaby campus. In the mean-time, you can check out all the photos from this year’s event.

See you next year!
