The first ever BCIT Engineering Expo took place on Wednesday May 10, 2017 at the Burnaby Campus. A collaboration between the School of Construction and the Environment and the School of Energy, the event showed off projects from various engineering programs, including Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics and Robotics programs.
The projects displayed were innovative and impressive, highlighting the accomplished engineering disciplines represented by the diploma and accredited degree programs at BCIT.
Over 130 projects were displayed by 250 students with enthusiasm and professionalism. There were over 65 industry representatives who had positive things to say about the event.
“I truly enjoyed attending the project displays and seeing the incredible ability of our graduates,” says Brent Dunn, Associate Dean, School of Energy. “The time that students dedicated to their projects was evident in the great displays. I was really impressed with the professionalism and enthusiasm the students exhibited. I also spoke to a number of employers who were recruiting and they were very impressed. Fantastic job everyone!”
