Bachelor of Interior Design granted CIDA Accreditation

Burnaby, April 18, 2017 – After a rigorous vetting process, the BCIT Bachelor of Interior Design program has been granted their official Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA).

With this accreditation, BCIT joins other esteemed post-secondary’s across Canada, the US, and around the world. This respected accreditation is an important step in the process for Interior Design graduates who are working towards their Registered Interior Design (RID) designation. In BC, earning an RID designation signifies that the successful candidate has the required education, exams, and experience to practice as a professional.

“We are pleased and excited to be awarded CIDA Accreditation,” says Bachelor of Interior Design Program Head, Tiia Manson. “CIDA accreditation gives our graduates and future employers across North America the confidence that this BCIT program provides the skills and knowledge needed for real-world practice in Interior Design.”

  5. Hi,
I have a bachelor degree in Architecture engineering and a master degree in Interior Architecture from Tehran University (Iran). Moreover, I have 3 years of professional working experience in my home country as an architect and interior designer. I am really excited to continue my education at BCIT in Canada. Which programme do you recommend me to apply? Am I eligible to apply directly to the Bachelor of interior design?

    • Hi Ali, BCIT offers a four-year, accredited Bachelor of Interior Design, with both full-time and part-time study options. The first year of study is designed as a foundation year (Certificate). Students who complete the 2nd year of the program will obtain a Diploma. Students will receive a Bachelor Degree after completion of the four-year program.
Please connect with our International Student Centre for more information on eligibility for studying in Canada and applying to BCIT https://www.bcit.ca/international/contact/
