The BCIT Marketing Association throws a great conference

On January 14th, the BCIT Marketing Association (BCITMA) hosted over 100 students at their annual Regional Conference.

The event is the largest student run conference from the BCIT School of Business. This year’s event, which took place at the BCIT Downtown Campus, included four speakers, a case competition and sales competition as well as networking and LinkedIn head shots. With over $2000 with cash and prizes, this was a major opportunity for students to apply their skills and have fun!

The presenting sponsor was Ledcor Group, which was joined by fellow sponsors ADESA Richmond, Sales Talent Agency, BCIT School of Business, Payworks, and Konica Minolta.

During the event, ADESA announced that they would be donate $1000 to BC Children’s hospital on behalf of the BCIT Marketing Association.
“Although it was our second time sponsoring the BCITMA Marketing Case Competition, we were still blown away by the participants’ creativity and in-depth research into our field,” says Binghao Feng, ADESA’s Marketing Manager. “We were able to renew and improve our perspective with each and every presentation. It was our pleasure to once again be a part of this event!”

It was a popular event among the students who attended as well.

“I’ve been to numerous workshops, conferences and seminars, but the 2017 BCITMA’s Regional Conference was really an experience like no other,” says Jin Kim. “The professionalism of both the student cohort and industry professionals were exemplary and really set the stage for events throughout the day. BCITMA’s Regional Conference offered phenomenal speakers who brought great insight into their respective industries in a way that was really relevant to the audience. Having the opportunity to partake in both the Sales competition and Case Study competition, I believe these were unbelievable experiences that have really fostered my growth as an aspiring student”.
