BCIT named to the top 5 of Canada’s Top 50 Research Colleges

BCIT has once again earned the #5 spot on the list of Canada’s Top 50 Research Colleges. This, according to Research Infosource Inc, which released its annual list this morning.

The list ranks colleges according to research income—all funds that support applied and scholarly research from all sources. BCIT has maintained first place in British Columbia and fifth place nationally, with a total research income of $6.3 million dollars.

“The consistent top 5 Research Infosource ranking for Applied Research at BCIT reflects the long history of applied research at BCIT and the depth of our reach into industry,” says Kim Dotto, Dean of Applied Research at BCIT. “Although our mix of partners changes from year to year, our reputation as an applied research partner both locally and internationally ensures that our services are in demand and that our results are highly valued.”

The applied research conducted at BCIT seeks to solve various industry issues. It also seeks to create practical learning opportunities for BCIT students while producing new, commercially relevant technology.
