British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) Trades Discovery students are working a little harder lately thanks to a $100,000 donation from Concert Properties.
That’s because the funds will go directly to awards, bursaries, and scholarships for students who finish the 16-week program.
Concert Properties has a long history of supporting BCIT students through their annual charity golf tournament. To date, Concert has raised an incredible $1,472,698 in support of students pursuing skilled trades training at BCIT.
“We are pleased to provide continuing support to the skills development and training programs at BCIT,” said Concert Properties Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David Podmore. “There are many BCIT graduates in our organization, including individuals in construction, real estate development, marketing, financial services, and property management disciplines. The quality of BCIT ‘job ready’ graduates is excellent, and our continued financial support is a way of giving back to the most important post-secondary institute in British Columbia.”
Trades Discovery programs are designed to allow participants extensive access to the available trades and technical training at BCIT campuses. These highly practical training programs prepare participants to successfully enter and complete skilled trades/technical training or seek apprenticeship.
