BCIT Forensic DNA Lab – Webinar on Latest Forensic DNA Technology!

April 25, 2022 by Fiona Kerr

The BCIT Forensic DNA Laboratory is working on validating the Verogen ForenSeq Signature Prep kit. This kit is run on a Next-Generation Sequencer and is able to not only analyze a number of forensic DNA markers simultaneously but also able to provide hair and eye colour as well as ancestry predictions for forensic samples.

On Thursday, April 21, 2022, Jason presented a webinar with Verogen about their new enhanced buffer for the kit and how it helps rescue challenging bone samples that are negatively impacted by PCR inhibitors.
