Information Technology Technician (CFSEU-BC & OCABC)

Working within the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit – BC (CFSEU-BC), the Organized Crime Agency of BC (OCABC) is recruiting an Information Technology Technician. This position is ideal for a recent post-secondary graduate searching for an opportunity to develop their skills and grow in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Information Technology Manager, the Information Technology Technician is responsible for:

  • Serving as the initial point of contact to support requests, analyze problems and escalate issues when necessary
  • Deploy and support laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones, printers, and network connections
  • Manage workstation Imaging and Deployment
  • Track and document hardware and software inventory
  • Document IT processes and procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • A technical diploma or degree in Computer Systems or Information Technology
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a RCMP security clearance
  • Certification in one or more of the following: A+, Network+, or equivalent experience

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Experience in Virtualization and VMware product suite
  • Installing and managing Windows based software
  • Experience in troubleshooting thin clients, PCs, scanners, printers, and mobile devices
  • Ability to diagnose hardware and/or software problems
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure and TCP/IP configuration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
