Crime Analyst Position with City of Surrey

Title:  Crime Analyst 2

Job Status:  Full Time Regular

Overview:

Surrey is home to the largest RCMP detachment in Canada with over 800 regular members and almost 300 support staff. The municipal employees who work at the Surrey RCMP provide professional support and services to police officers and the community. Services provided include: information technology, handling and dispatching of emergency and non-emergency calls, records and asset management, training and development, crime analysis, communications, prisoner management, office administration, and program management with respect to community engagement, crime prevention and early intervention services.

We are currently recruiting for a regular full time Crime Analyst 2.  The Crime Analyst 2 position specializes in research work involving the application of research techniques to support highly complex criminal investigative activities, operational programs and crime reduction strategies.

Scope:

The successful candidate will provide statistical, tactical and strategic crime analysis services and intelligence information to management; evaluate and validate intelligence information gathered from various sources while establishing and maintaining working relationships with members, staff and external agencies.  This role will require you to assist in the design and planning of projects relative to specific developments or details investigations, participate on project teams to monitor and identify the nature and score of emerging and persistent crime problems, trends as well as deliver presentations, briefings and situation reports on crime trends and related matters.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a Degree in a related discipline including coursework in applied research and statistics and a minimum of five years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

You must be able to obtain and maintain the relevant level of security clearance throughout employment with the Surrey RCMP.
