Job Status: Full Time Regular
Overview: The Crime Analyst 1 position specializes in research work involving the application of complex research techniques to support criminal investigative activities, operational programs and crime reduction strategies.
Scope: The successful candidate will provide specialized work involving the application of research techniques to support moderately complex criminal investigation activities, operational programs and crime reduction strategies. The incumbent provides intelligence information and some crime analysis services to management.
The Crime Analyst 1 will also prepare written documentation including but not limited to profile packaging, suspects lists, maps and narrative and statistical reports on crime trends and related matters. In addition, the successful candidate will establish and maintain working relationships with members, staff and external agencies.
Requirements: Qualified applicants must have completion of a university degree in a related discipline including coursework in applied research and statistics. Plus two years related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
You must be able to obtain and maintain the relevant level of security clearance throughout employment with the Surrey RCMP.
