Forensic Video Technician Opportunity at North Vancouver RCMP

The City of North Vancouver – Police Administration Department requires a regular full-time Forensic Video Technician to work at the RCMP Detachment.

Summary of Duties

This is specialized technical work utilizing video technology and techniques in the Forensic Identification Section. You will review, perform technical level forensic video analyses, and process a variety of video evidence for investigation and court purposes. You will also provide a variety of clerical support to the staff in the Forensic Identification Section, such as mail receipt and delivery, answering inquiries, monitoring and ordering supplies, arranging equipment repair, word processing and preparing and maintaining various documents and files for staff in the Section.

 

Required Qualification

You will have related experience, preferably in a law enforcement environment, and have completed a diploma program in a related field supplemented by specific technical courses related to the work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You will also have a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance as a condition of ongoing employment.

 

Compensation & Benefits Overview

$30.09 to $35.43 per hour

(Pay Grade 21 – January 2015 rates)

Hours of Work: Any seven (7) consecutive hours, between the hours of 6:00am and 10:00pm, exclusive of an unpaid one hour meal break; any five consecutive days of seven.
