New West Police Looking for Crime Prevention Volunteers

April 13, 2015 by cingram

Logo for the New Westminster police departmentThe New Westminster Police Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) enhances the quality of life for everyone in New Westminster, by fostering a successful community in which crime is reduced and people are safe. Bringing together citizens from throughout the area, the CPU creates a more unified New Westminster and provides an opportunity for everyone to get involved in building a stronger, more secure community.

The CPU recognizes that a great community is not built by one individual alone but is the result of the combined hard work and effort of many different people. Therefore the CPU develops programs, provides resources and offers support to encourage volunteer participation in the enhancement of a safer community.

At this time we are accepting applications for Crime Reduction Unit Volunteers. All volunteers begin in our Citizens’ Crime Watch Patrol Program (CCWP). This program requires a commitment level of 6 hours per month and operates weekends, special events and on-call.

If you’re interested, please visit our website for instructions on how to apply and to download an application. Applications must be received by April 19, 2015.
