Position Overview
The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular, part-time Forensic Video Technician to join our team of professionals in the Protective Services – RCMP Division, Information Technology section.

Summary of Duties
Reporting to the Technical Supervisor, you will be responsible in this unionized position for receiving and reviewing video evidence from various sources, preparing materials and reports to support criminal investigations; appearing in Court to present testimony on any work performed; act as a resource person and provide guidance to Detachment members and other agencies in the field of forensic video analysis. You will also prepare and maintain related files and documentation, perform a variety of clerical tasks, as well as prepare and maintain various documents and files for staff.

Required Qualifications
Your education will include Grade 12 supplemented by courses in video production and editing, computers and photography plus some related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Sound knowledge of forensic imaging and video conversion techniques, of modern office methods and procedures; computer equipment, software and applications; and the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is necessary.

Required Licenses, Certificates, and Registrations
This position requires an Enhanced RCMP Reliability Status.

A valid Class 5 (Full-privilege) BC driver’s license is required.

Compensation & Benefits Overview
The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $25.96 – $30.52 per hour (2011 rates), plus benefits. The hours of work are non-standard hours and/or non-standard work weeks.
