The Independent Investigations Office is an independent civilian led agency with jurisdiction to investigate serious incidents involving British Columbia police, including municipal police officers and members of the RCMP. The Police Act creates the IIO and defines its powers. The IIO reports to the Attorney General, however investigations and decisions are operationally independent of the government.

You are skilled at conflict resolution and are able to demonstrate sensitivity and discretion when dealing with those impacted by investigations. This key role encompasses conducting investigative interviews, preparing comprehensive documentation, evidence, and reports necessary for court proceedings and appearing as a witness during trials or other hearings.
