The Forensic department is hosting a workshop for professionals working in the area of sexual violence adults and adolescents. The workshop will include both didactic and clinical practice in a variety of aspects directly related to the role and responsibilities of the nurse examiner in the clinical setting.

TOPICS OF THE DIDACTIC COMPONENT:
- Professional demeanour and responsibilities for those working in sexual violence
- Update on documentation guidelines
- Current research findings pertinent to sexual violence
- Update on HIV post exposure prophylaxis
TOPICS OF THE CLINICAL COMPONENT
The clinical component of the workshop is an interactive mock examination for the students with emphasis on the following areas:
- Pre and post examination processes
- Use of alternate light source for detection of evidence
- Collection and preservation of forensic evidence
- Discussion and evaluation of clinical component
