Job Status: Full Time Regular

Overview: The Forensic Identification Technician reports to the Administrative Services Manager and is responsible for performing technical work related to forensic video and will be required to provide administrative support to staff and management.

Scope: This position is responsible for receiving and prioritizing confidential and sensitive forensic information requests. Typical duties include reviewing and recovering image and video evidence from different devices and media, as well as converting, enhancing, concealing and preparing images and video for presentation and/or court disclosure. In addition, the incumbent will act as a resource and provide guidance to staff as well as respond to inquiries and liaise with internal and external agencies.

Requirements: The Forensic Identification Technician will have a Diploma in video technology, broadcast television or a discipline relevant to the field of forensic video analysis plus a minimum of 2 years’ related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. This position requires completing and maintaining the relevant level of RCMP Security Clearance.
